On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, Nassau County Aviation and Marine Bureau Units will be hosting interagency training with the Suffolk County Police Department regarding the utilization of rescue sticks that will deploy into a personal flotation device upon contact with water to aide in the rescue of swimmers/persons in the water that are in need of assistance.
These rescue sticks can be deployed from a helicopter, marine vessel or from land. This exercise will show the inter-agency cooperation and training between multiple law enforcement agencies in an effort to preserve life.
When – 9:30 A.M. to 1 P.M.
Where – Tobay Beach, Ocean Parkway, Massapequa
