Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Hempstead man for burglary and grand larceny which occurred in East Garden City between Sunday 05/29/16 through Tuesday 06/07/16.
According to detectives, Henry Cabezas, 50, of 167 Beverly Rd., entered the Perfume Point kiosk after it was closed, on Sunday, 05/29/16, located at Roosevelt Field Mall, 630 Old Country Rd. and removed over $6,000 worth of merchandise. The defendant was also identified on five additional larceny cases between the dates of 5/30/16 and 06/06/16, from Microsoft, Solstice, Sunglass Hut and Davis Vision, each having in excess of $1,000 worth of merchandise taken.
On Friday, 06/10/16, Third Precinct Police officers, while on routine foot patrol at the mall, observed the defending exiting a store. The officers, who had knowledge that the defendant is banned from the mall because of previous larcenies from stores within the mall, stopped the defendant and placed him under arrest.
Cabezas is being charged with five counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, six counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree and will be arraigned on Saturday, June 11, 2016 in District Court, Hempstead.
