The Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a man for Sexual Abuse that occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 4:15 a.m. in Elmont.
According to Detectives, defendant Alex Rivera, 24, of Elmont, did enter an apartment, in which a juvenile female was inside and proceeded to touch the victim inappropriately against her will. The victim fought with Alex Rivera to get away several times before successfully escaping him and alerting her parents of the intruder. Once the parents were alerted, defendant Alex Rivera ran away in an unknown direction. On Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 8:40 a.m. defendant Alex Rivera did surrender himself in to Nassau Police at the 5th Precinct.
Defendant Alex Rivera is charged with Burglary 2nd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Sexual Abuse 3rd degree, Sexually Motivated Felony and Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
