Major Case Bureau detectives are investigating an Assault involving a shooting that occurred on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 2:13 am in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, First Precinct officers received a call for shots fired and a “Shot Spotter” indication at Pennsylvania Avenue and W. Clinton Avenue. During an investigation at that scene, officers received information that an area hospital was treating a gunshot victim. It was determined that the victim, a 23 year old male from Central Islip, was in fact shot at the earlier scene in the arm causing a non-life threatening treatable injury.
A short time later another area hospital notified police regarding a potential second victim from that scene. The 22 year old male from Hempstead was found to have suffered minor abrasions, possibly from gunshot fragments.
Both victims refused to cooperate with the investigation and detectives are requesting anyone with information regarding the above incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
