The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Auto Accident Involving a Pedestrian that occurred on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 5:04 p.m. in Plainview.
According to detectives, an 80 year-old female was crossing south bound on Old Country Road against traffic when she was struck by a 2017 Hyundai, which was traveling west bound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nassau County AMT.
The driver of the vehicle, a 66 year-old male, remained at the scene and was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
