First Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Florida man and woman for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on July 16, 2019 at 11:23 p.m. in Freeport.
According to Detectives, officers while on routine patrol observed a 2018 Dodge Charger, occupied by the defendants, Tamika Hicks, 32 and Devan hall, 29 traveling northbound on South Ocean Avenue. A vehicle and traffic law stop was conducted at South Ocean Avenue and Ray Street. During the investigation the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a loaded semi-automatic handgun was recovered. Both occupants were placed into custody without incident.
Tamika Hicks and Devan Hall are both charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree Loaded Firearm outside Home, Criminal possession of a Weapon 3rd degree ammunition feeding device, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. They will be arraigned on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
