The First Squad reports the arrest of a North Massapequa man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 8:20 P.M. in North Massapequa.
According to Detectives, First Precinct Police Officers with the assistance of the Nassau County Probation Department conducted a night watch probation check at a North Massapequa residence located at 30 West Drive. While inside conducting a lawful search of the defendant, Jerell Deleon, 18, officers observed a handgun loaded with a overcapacity magazine within grabbable reach of the defendant. The defendant was placed into Police custody without incident. A further search of the house revealed a second handgun, defaced, with a overcapacity magazine.
Jerell Deleon is charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (large capacity magazine), two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (previous conviction) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (defaced firearm). He will be arraigned on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
