The Third Squad reports the Arrest of two Queens men for Grand Larceny that occurred on multiple dates in East Garden City.
According to detectives, Teron Butcher, 29, of 165-31 145th Ave., was employed as a Loss Prevention Agent at Bloomingdale’s, located at 630 Old Country Rd. While at work, Butcher manipulated cameras to allow Kenneth John, 30, of 134-26 161st St. to enter and remain in the store after hours undetected. Kenneth John was also employed at Bloomingdale’s as a Loss Prevention Agent.
On September 22nd, after being notified by defendant Butcher that surveillance cameras had been altered, defendant John and a second male subject (not yet apprehended) removed assorted merchandise.
A thorough investigation revealed the defendants were responsible for multiple larcenies on multiple dates over the course of a year. The merchandise stolen is valued in excess of $260,000.
Defendant Butcher is being charged with three (3) counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree.
Defendant John is being charged with three (3) counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree.
Both defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
