The Second Squad reports the arrest of two men for an incident that occurred on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Levittown.
According to detectives, Kyle Simak, 17, of 183 North Nassau Avenue, Massapequa while visiting a relative in Levittown did remove a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver from a locked box. The male victim, 62, reported the incident and advised the defendant to turn himself into police. Upon surrendering Simak told detectives he had sold the revolver to defendant, Matthew Cano, 22, of 3256 Park Avenue, Wantagh who was arrested in front of his home by officers from the Bureau of Special Operations.
Simak is charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Cano is charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Criminal Possession Stolen Property 4th Degree, Criminal Possession Marihuana 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession Marihuana 5th Degree. Both defendants will be arraigned on Monday, November 30, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
