First Squad detectives are investigating an incident that occurred on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 3:15 pm in Freeport.
According to detectives, two female subjects (see attached photos) entered Ebony Beauty Supply, 171 W. Merrick Road and were
observed by the owner who recognized one of the women (subject 1) who was involved in a prior shoplifting incident at the store. After observing her removing items from the shelves and never going to the register as she was leaving the store, the owner, suspecting she was stealing store merchandise, confronted her and asked to see her bag. She then became enraged and punched the victim in the face before fleeing the store with the other female (subject 2). As both females were fleeing the store, the victim observed subject 2 reach into subject 1’s bag and throw stolen store merchandise onto the floor.
Both subjects then were observed entering a silver or gray vehicle that was parked in front of the business.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above incident or if they recognize the subjects in the attached photos to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
