Special Victims Squad detectives, with the assistance of the Special Victims Bureau District Attorney’s Office, report the Arrest of a North Bellmore man for Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child that occurred on multiple dates in multiple locations.
According to detectives, Jonathan Spohrer, 26, of 2050 Bedford Ave., while acting in his capacity as an Assistant Scout Master for the Boys Scouts of America, sexually abused a 12-year-old male victim. The incidents took place on multiple occasions from January, 2018 through November 18, 2018. These incidents took place during Boy Scout sanctioned retreats and meetings that occurred in Huntington (Suffolk County), Putnam Valley (Putnam County) and Bellmore, New York.
On October 31, 2019 at 1:15 p.m., after an extensive investigation, the defendant was located at his residence and placed under arrest without incident.
Jonathan Spohrer is charged with Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child 2nd degree. He was arraigned on Friday, November 1, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
