The First Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Robbery that occurred on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 8:55 am in Uniondale.
According to detectives, a 20-year-old male victim was approached by a male known to him while walking at the intersection of Front Street and Newport Road. The male subject forcibly took the victims cell phone and Apple air pods, fleeing on foot. Police responded and located the defendant, Craig Blackwood, 20, of 724 Summer Avenue, who fled, refusing to comply with officer’s verbal commands and resisted arrest. After a brief struggle the subject was taken into custody and the victim’s property was recovered from the defendant. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Defendant Blackwood is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, November 4, 2019 in First District Court, Hempstead.
