
The Seventh Squad reports the arrests of four people for a Robbery that occurred on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. in Massapequa.
According to detectives, two 15 year old male juveniles were in the Sunrise Mall, located at 850 Sunrise Highway when they were approached by one adult male subject and three juvenile male subjects who demanded the earphones that one of the victims possessed. The victim refused and attempted to walk away when one of the subjects pulled out a knife and threatened the victims with it. The victims were able to alert mall security at which point the four subjects fled on foot but were located a short distance later on Carmans Road by responding police. They were placed into police custody without further incident. No injuries reported at scene. The one adult subject was identified as defendant Tavares Redd, 18 of 3547 Great Neck Road, Amityville.
Defendant Tavares Redd and the three male juvenile defendants are all charged with Robbery 1st degree, Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Attempted Robbery 2nd degree and Attempted Grand Larceny 4th degree. Defendant Tavares Redd and two of the male juvenile defendants’ were be arraigned on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. The other male juvenile subject was arraigned on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Family Court.
