The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Bronx man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 8:30 p.m. in Lake Success.
According to Fraud and Forgery Detectives, the victim, a 77-year-old male, was contacted by an unknown male subject who claimed to be a bail bondsman that needed to pick up bail money for victims’ grandson, who was involved in a DWI auto accident, in the amount of nine thousand five hundred dollars ($9,500.00) cash. The victim complied and delivered the bail money to the specified location. The victim later recognized the defendant’s picture, seen in the news after being arrested for an unrelated “Grandson in jail scam”, and contacted police.
Edward Rodriquez, 22, of 1930 Grand Concourse was arrested after a thorough investigation was conducted.
Defendant Rodriquez is being charged with Grand Larceny 2nd, Grand Larceny 3rd, and Defraud 1st Degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at First District Court in Hempstead.
