The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Queens man for Endangering the Welfare of a Child on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 9:50 pm in Great Neck Plaza.
According to Narcotics Vice Squad detectives, on Sunday, November 03, 2019 defendant Tarandeep Oberoi, 33, of 132-02 Jamaica Avenue texted a 14 year old female juvenile offering to sell her alcohol and marijuana.
On Monday, December 16, 2019 at 9:50 pm a detective contacted the defendant via a txt message as a minor asking to meet the defendant in front of a Chelsea Place residence so he could sell MDMA (Molly) for an agreed price. Defendant Tarandeep Oberoi arrived in a 2017 Honda that contained a bottle of alcohol and a alcoholic beverage in the cupholder. Oberoi was placed into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.
Defendant Tarandeep Oberoi is charged with Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Attempted Unlawfully Dealing with a Child. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
Detectives request that if anyone feels that they may have had contact with the defendant and been a victim to call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1 – 800 -244- TIPS or dial 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
