The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Massapequa man for a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, December 22, 2019 in Massapequa.
According to Robbery Squad Detectives, defendant Paul Defilippis, 32, of 886 Magnolia Drive North Massapequa at approximately 2:45pm did enter the CVS Pharmacy located at 20 Broadway and began to shop for approximately two hours. At approximately 4:45pm the defendant jumped over the pharmacy counter, stated that he had gun, (none was displayed); approached the female victim, 35, and demanded that she open the safe. In fear for her safety, the victim complied and the defendant removed an undetermined amount of controlled substances and then fled the store through a rear door. There were approximately ten customers and ten employees in the store at the time of the Robbery. No injuries were reported.
Police Officers located the defendant in front of 519 Ocean Avenue, where he refused verbal commands and resisted arrest. The defendant was taken into custody and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest. While in Police custody for arrest processing, defendant Paul Defilippis became uncooperative and charged at a Detective, causing a struggle to ensue. He is additionally charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration and will be arraigned on all charges on Monday, December 23, 2019 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
