The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of two persons for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at 2:20 A.M. in Atlantic Beach.
According to detectives, a Fourth Precinct officer while on patrol observed defendant Yoli Gomez Osoria, 27 of 2785 University Ave, Bronx, standing in front of an Atlantic Beach post office located at 2009 Park Street retrieving an object from inside a metal mailbox. Defendant Yoli Gomez Osoria then fled on foot but was soon after placed into custody without further incident. A phishing device used to take mail out mailboxes was found on the defendant. Defendants Yoli Gomez Osoria’s car, a 1999 Acura was located nearby that had a female subject located inside, now known as defendant Andrea Gomez, 28, of 2785 University Street, Bronx. Stolen checks and multiple bills of forged US Currency were found inside and defendant Andrea Gomez was also placed into custody without further incident. No injuries reported at scene. Upon further investigation multiple pieces of US Mail were located inside defendants Andrea Gomez’s purse
Defendant Yoli Gomez Osria is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Stolen Property 5th degree and Possession of Burglars Tools. Defendant Andrea Gomez is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree, seven counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree. Both defendants will be arraigned on Thursday, December 26, 2019, in First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead
