The Homicide Squad is investigating a fatal auto accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11:30 AM in Hewlett.

According to detectives, a 2017 Mercedes Benz traveling north bound on Peninsula Boulevard was making a left turn onto Harris Avenue when it collided with a 2014 Dodge Ram pick up truck which was traveling south bound on Peninsula Boulevard. The operator of the Mercedes Benz, a 85 year old male, was transported to a local Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by hospital emergency medical staff.  The operator of the Dodge pick up, a 77 year old male, was transported to a local hospital where he is in serious condition. The investigation is ongoing.
