
Major Case Bureau-Robbery Squad detectives report the details of a Robbery that occurred on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, an unknown male entered the Chase Bank located at 270 N. Central Ave. He approached the window and handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The subject then fled on foot onto N. Central Ave in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.
There were four employees and one customer present at the time of the Robbery.
The subject is described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and purple gloves.

Major Case Bureau detectives from the Robbery Squad report the arrest of Romell Nellis, 40, homeless, in connection with the above incident. Detectives also linked Nellis to a Roslyn Savings Bank, West Hempstead, robbery that occurred on 12/17/2019.
Nellis is charged with two (2) counts of Robbery 3rd Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 1/9/2020.
