
Third Squad Detectives are investigating an unusual incident that occurred on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 3:20 PM in East Garden City.
According to Detectives, while shopping at Old Navy, a 33-year-old female and a 35-year-old female, both accompanied by their toddler children, witnessed an unknown male expose his genitals. The subject is described as a male black, wearing blue jeans, white t-shirt and black cap. Detectives believe the subject is responsible for other similar incidents in the area.

After a thorough investigation, Charles McClendon, 47, of Hempstead was arrested for the above incident.
During the investigation it was determined that Charles McClendon was involved in the following incidents:
On October 15, 2019 McClendon entered Orange Theory located at 211 Glen Cove Road, Carle Place. The defendant entered without permission and proceeded to shower in the woman’s locker room.
On December 30, 2019 McClendon entered Best Buy located at 1100 Old Country Road, East Garden City and removed five (5) vacuums from the store without making a payment. The merchandise was valued at $2,499.95.
On January 1, 2020 McClendon entered Buy Buy Baby located at 895 E Gate Blvd., East Garden City and proceeded to the woman’s rest room. After entering, he exposed himself to the female victim. The victim, 65, yelled at the defendant who left the bathroom and fled the scene.
Defendant McClendon is being charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, two (2) counts Endangering the Welfare of a Child, three (3) counts of Public Lewdness and Criminal Trespass. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
