Major Case Bureau-Robbery Squad detectives report the details of a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 6:55 p.m. in Oceanside.
According to detectives, an unknown male entered the Peoples United Bank, located at 3577 Long Beach Rd., approached the teller and made a verbal demand for money. The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The subject fled on foot in an unknown direction. There was one employee and zero customers present at the time of the incident. No one at the scene required medical attention.
The subject is described as a white male, approximately 50 years old, 5’7” tall with a thin build. He was wearing a blue short sleeved shirt with white pinstripes over a black sweatshirt, light colored pants, a light knit hat with a brim, dark framed eyeglasses and dark footwear.

Robbery Squad detectives, with the assistance of officers from Bureau of Special Operations, did locate defendant Michael Fox, 48, of 99 Grand Ave., Rockville Centre at the Best Western Hotel, located at 173 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre. He was placed under arrest for the above Robbery without incident. He is charged with Robbery 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at First District Court, Hempstead.
