Major Case Bureau detectives from the Robbery Squad are investigating a series of robberies that occurred on Thursday, February 6, 2020 beginning at 2:48 am in Franklin Square.
According to detectives, two male blacks, each carrying backpacks, entered CVS, 640 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square, and concealed various store items in the backpacks. After being confronted by a store employee, one of the subjects displayed a silver handgun before both males left the store. They were then observed entering a white SUV that was waiting for them in the parking lot and fled the scene. The first male black was further described as being about 6’1” tall, with a thin build and a beard. He was wearing a black & gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The second male black was about 5’7” tall, he was wearing a white baseball cap, light colored sweatshirt, a puffy vest jacket and wore eyeglasses.
At 3:37 am the same morning, a female white entered 7 Eleven, 66 S. Franklin Street, Hempstead, approached the counter while displaying a silver handgun and demanded money from the clerk. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash from the stores register, she fled the store and was observed entering a white SUV that was occupied by the second male black described in the CVS robbery. The female was further described as wearing a white hat, gray hooded sweatshirt, white shirt and blue pants.
