
The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Driving While Intoxicated on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2:20am in Oceanside.
According to Police, defendant Miguel A. Medina, 38, of 476 Liberty Street was observed operating a 2016 gray colored Nissan Altima with a temporary Texas registration northbound on Long Beach Road. Police observed the vehicle making unsafe lane changes so a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop was initiated on Long Beach Road and W. Waukena Avenue. The investigation revealed there were four passengers in the vehicle; an adult female age 69 in the front passenger seat and in the rear seat a male age 11 and two females ages 3 and 5 years. Subsequent to the investigation the defendant was placed into custody for DWI. The children were released to a family member and the vehicle was impounded.
Defendant Miguel A. Medina is charged with three counts of DWI (Leandra’s Law), two counts of DWI, three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, two counts of Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The defendant will be arraigned on Monday, February 10, 2020 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
