The First Squad reports the Arrest of a Brooklyn man for Robbery that occurred on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 10:52 a.m. in Bellmore.
According to detectives, police responded to a Robbery that just occurred at Rite Aid located at 2260 Jerusalem Ave. According to a store employee, a male subject entered the store and removed items without attempting to pay. After a brief struggle with the employee, a 28-year-old female, the subject fled the scene in a white Volkswagen. Additional units responded and located the vehicle a short time later. The vehicle, which was reported stolen from Suffolk County on February 15, collided with a building on Merrick Rd. in Freeport at which time the subject was placed under arrest after a brief foot pursuit. The building was not damaged.
The victim suffered a laceration to her face and was treated at the scene.
The defendant, Arjumand Evans, 18, of 2105 Rockaway Parkway, is charged with Robbery 2nd degree, Robbery 3rd degree, Assault 2nd degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer 3rd degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree, False Personation, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree and Obstruction Governmental Administration. He will be arraigned on Monday, February 17, 2020 at First District Court, Hempstead.
