The First Squad reports the details of two Burglaries that occurred in Rockville Centre on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 and Tuesday, August 27, 2019.
According to Detectives, on both listed dates the same unknown male subject did enter St. Agnes Cathedral located at 1 Quealy Place when the church was closed. On August 20, 2019 at approximately 5:30pm the subject pried open a donation box and removed an undetermined amount of US currency. On August 27, 2019 at approximately 4:30pm the subject entered the main area of the church that was closed by going through a locked gate and again pried open a donation box removing an undetermined amount of US currency.
The subject is described as a male white or possibly Hispanic, thin build, approximately 5’8” – 5’9”, with medium length brown hair. His clothing description for both days consisted of a purple t-shirt, light colored sweatpants with black sneakers and a red t-shirt, black sweatpants with black sneakers.

The First Squad reports the arrest of Alexander Barone, 30, of 62 Kelvin Street, Queens Village. He was located and arrested by Long Beach Police Department for an open Nassau County warrant for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. It was revealed that he was the subject involved in burglaries committed in Nassau County and then transported to the First Precinct Detectives for arrest processing in connection with the above incident. A subsequent investigation revealed he was also responsible for burglaries at this location on 8/27/19 and 1/30/20. The defendant is charged with three (3) counts of Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
