The Arson Bomb Squad is investigating a house fire that occurred in Farmingdale on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 12:45 pm.
According to detectives, Eighth Precinct police responded to Secatogue Avenue for a serious house fire. Upon arrival, police observed a residence fully engulfed causing extensive damage. All occupants were out of the house. The fire also spread and caused damage to a residence located on Nelson Ste The Farmingdale Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire along with the assistance of the East Farmingdale Fire department, Bethpage Fire department, South Farmingdale Fire department, Syosset Fire department, Deer Park Fire department, Melville Fire department, Massapequa Fire department, North Massapequa Fire department, Hicksville Fire department, Plainview Fire department, Levittown Fire department, East Norwich Fire department and the Nassau County Fire Marshall. There were at least 120 firefighters fighting the fire. Two firemen were treated at a local hospital for minor burns. One firefighter was also treated for an eye injury. The investigation is ongoing.
