County Executive Laura Curran and Commissioner of Police Patrick J. Ryder will provide details of a medical emergency that officers and a police medic responded to on December 11, 2019 in Levittown.
Upon Police arrival the aided was found not breathing, with no pulse and suffering from full cardiac arrest. Utilizing various life-saving procedures, they were able to save the aided, 71, and safely transport him to an area hospital for further treatment. Exactly one month later the aided was released from rehab and continues on his way to a full recovery.
The aided and his family will be present to celebrate his 72nd birthday. They will be enjoying a cake from the Police Department and a gift from the first responders involved that day. The attending emergency room physician will also be on hand to speak about the effort of the officers and medic, addressing how important their role was in saving his life.
