First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Roosevelt man for a Robbery that occurred on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 6:23 am in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, the male victim, 33, was walking westbound on E. Fulton Avenue and observed an unknown male inside his neighbor’s vehicle which was parked in the street. The victim continued to walk west and was placed in a rear chokehold in the vicinity of Stevens Street. The victim was punched in the head multiple times and was able to identify the subject as the same individual sitting in his neighbor’s vehicle. The suspect fled southbound on Stevens Street.
A short time later, the victim observed the subject once again in the neighbor’s vehicle. The subject removed and item from the vehicle. The victim used his cell phone to take a picture. The subject realized his picture was taken, approached the victim and again punched him in the head multiple times. The victim fell to the ground and the subject removed a wallet from the victim’s rear pocket. He fled westbound on foot.
A thorough investigation was conducted and Rahmarv McNeil, 18, of 294 Washington Avenue was arrested without incident. The defendant was in possession of two (2) pills and a substance believed to be marihuana.
Defendant McNeil is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He was previously arraigned on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
