The First Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for a Burglary that occurred on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 6:05 A.M. in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, police responded to a call of a suspicious person at an empty residence located on Pleasant Avenue. Upon police arrival, defendant Elliot Fleming, 58, of 908 Nassau Road, Uniondale was found in the backyard holding copper piping. Police ordered defendant Fleming to drop the copper pipes, to which he complied. Defendant Fleming was placed under arrest without incident. Upon police investigation it was discovered the defendant had broken into the residence and was attempting to steal the copper piping inside. Further investigation determined that Defendant Fleming was responsible for a second Burglary at another residence located on Prospect Street at approximately 4:00 A.M. that occurred on Monday, June 1, 2020.
Defendant Elliot Fleming is charged with Burglary 2nd degree, Attempted Burglary 2nd degree, Burglary 3rd degree, Attempted Burglary 3rd degree, Possession of Burglar Tools and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Mineola.
