The First Squad reports the arrest of two men from Cincinnati, Ohio for a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 11:55 P.M in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, a male victim, 21, had just exited his vehicle parked on Williams Street when two subjects, now known as defendants Aristides Vasquez, 20, of 3171 Ferncrest Court and Hector Espinoza, 22, of 680 West Sharon Road approached him. The two defendants each displayed a weapon and demanded the victim to give them all of his money. The two defendants then fled on foot Eastbound on Williams Street. A short time later the defendants were located by officers on Stevens Street. Both defendants were placed under arrest without further incident. Subsequent to the police investigation it was determined that the defendants were in possession of a revolver and a bb gun.
Defendant Aristides Vasquez is charged with Robbery 1st degree, Robbery 2nd degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. Defendant Hector Espinoza is charged with Robbery 1st degree, Robbery 2nd degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st degree and two charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. Both defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in Mineola.
