Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Freeport man for Attempted Sale of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 4:24 pm in Freeport.
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives, an investigation was conducted following the fatal overdose of a Freeport resident which occurred on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that defendant Derek Stulsky, age 37, of 138 Church Street in Freeport, was the possible dealer who sold a controlled substance to the victim. Undercover Detectives contacted defendant Stulsky and an agreement was arranged for Undercover Detectives to purchase a quantity of heroin from Defendant Stulsky at an undisclosed location in Freeport, in exchange for US currency. After defendant Stulsky accepted the payment from the undercover Detective, the defendant was placed under arrest without incident. Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined defendant Stulsky was not in possession of any controlled substances at the time of his arrest.
Defendant Derek Stulsky is charged with Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, June 4, 2020 in Mineola.
