Third Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Bronx man for crimes that occurred on April 23, 2019 in Nassau County.
According to Detectives, an investigation was being conducted for fraud and stolen checks. It was determined that the subject was obtaining checks from the mail and altering them. The subject would then fraudulently cash the checks for a higher amount. The investigation led to the defendant Charles Collins, 26, of 1734Townsend Avenue, Apt. 4B. He was placed into custody without further incident.
The Defendant Charles Collins has been charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Identity Theft 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 2nd Degree,and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Sunday, August 23, 2020 in Mineola.
