The Nassau County Police Department reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 12:40 p.m. in Mineola.

According to police, units responded to a radio assignment for a fire at Piccola Bussola restaurant located at 159 Jericho Turnpike. Upon arrival, units found the restaurant and the apartment above fully engulfed in flames. Multiple fire departments responded to extinguish the fire over a two-hour period. Three members of the fire department suffered injuries as a result and were treated at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is still under investigation.
