The First Squad reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for an assault that occurred on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 8:20 PM in Roosevelt.
According to Detectives, a male victim got into a verbal argument inside of his Dawes Avenue residence with the male defendant, Ludlow Robinson, 55, who also resides at the Dawes Avenue residence. The defendant then left the house and returned a short timer later with an axe concealed in his pants. He began swinging the axe at the first victim and threatened to kill him. At this time, a second male victim, and brother of victim one, who also resides at the residence, intervened and was struck in the head with the axe the defendant was wielding. The second victim was able to get the axe away from defendant Robinson, and use it to defend himself and his brother. Both the defendant and second victim were transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The axe was recovered at scene.
Defendant Robinson is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, and Menacing 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
