

The Major Case Bureau report the arrest of two Wantagh men on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 8:13 PM in Wantagh.
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives, as part of Operation Natalie, Nassau County’s War Against Opioids, members conducted a search warrant at 1375 Wantagh Avenue. During the subsequent investigation detectives recovered crack, heroin and fentanyl, along with numerous articles of drug paraphernalia, which were seized. Defendants Michael Merlo, 29 and Frank Merlo, 33, were both at scene and arrested without incident.
Defendants Michael Merlo and Frank Merlo are both charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, and Criminal possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. They were arraigned Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Mineola.
The Nassau County Police Department reminds the public that as part of operation Natalie and our Multi Prong Approach of Education, Awareness, Enforcement, Treatment, Diversion and After Care Visits, we will be continuing with our zero-tolerance response to any and all illegal drug activity within the County.
