County Executive Laura Curran and Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder announce that the Nassau County Police Department continue to utilize our “School Resource Program Initiative.”
Police Department members of all ranks will greet students, faculty and families utilizing COVID-19 precautions since safety is our top priority. By having officers visit schools on a regular basis, we are constantly familiarizing ourselves with the layout of the buildings.
Our officers will continue to visit schools while they are in session to create strong relationships and promote the safest educational environment possible.
As part of the Departments School Resource Program, all RMP’s have been equipped with a breach tool that will allow officers to gain access to locked doors and will also be equipped with a tourniquet that will aid in stopping profuse bleeding.
