
Seventh Precinct officers report the arrest of a Bay Shore woman for an incident that occurred on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 12:25 pm in Massapequa.
According to officers, a 911 called was generated by a witness who observed a young child who was left alone in a running vehicle in the parking lot of the Carmens Plaza parking lot, 941 Carmens Road. Upon police arrival officers observed the male child, two years of age, in the rear seat of the unlocked running vehicle, with the air conditioning on, sleeping. Officers then dispatched an ambulance to respond to the scene and upon arrival the child was evaluated by an NCPD Police Medic. The boy was found to be unharmed.
Approximately ten minutes later, Reina Carrion, 25, of 9 Front Street, exited the Department of Motor Vehicles office and was placed under arrest. The child was given into the custody of a family friend.
Carrion is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and will be arraigned in Mineola on 9/11/2020.
