Second Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Brooklyn woman for Animal Cruelty that occurred between June and September of 2020 in Hicksville.
According to detectives, police responded for a 911 call for a foul odor on Maple Place. Upon arrival, officers entered the basement apartment with the landlord due to a strong smell emanating throughout the house. After entering the apartment, the landlord and officers observed the apartment to be in deplorable condition. They discovered a deceased dog in a double locked cage that was decomposing.
During a collaborative investigation with the NCSPA, it was determined the dog’s owner checked on the dog once after moving to Brooklyn in June.
Tiffany Adorno, 29, of 11 Brighton 10th Path was arrested without incident.
Defendant Adorno is being charged with Torturing/Injuring Animals and Abandonment of Animals under Agricultural and Market Law. She will be arraigned on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Mineola.
