Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for Robbery on September 22, 2020 at 6:00 pm in Hempstead.
According to Gang Investigations Squad Detectives, a thorough investigation was conducted and Lesean Armstead, 36, of 451 Fulton Avenue, Apt. 240, was located and arrested by members of the Hempstead Police Department and transported to Nassau County Robbery Squad. He was found responsible in connection with the following robberies on the following dates:
September 5, 2020 at 7:30 pm, Hempstead. The defendant did enter VIM clothing store, 45 Main Street, and take one pair of sweat pants off the clothing rack and went to go exit the store. The male store employee, 39, stopped the defendant and attempted to take the clothing back. The defendant did punch the male victim with a closed fist in the face and body numerous times causing bruising, swelling and a complaint of substantial pain to his face and left arm. The defendant then passed all points of purchase with the clothing.
September 11, 2020 at 5:57 pm, Hempstead. The defendant did enter Chicken and Sub Deli, 618 Fulton Avenue and walked behind the store cash register counter without permission. The defendant then pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the male cashier, 58, and demanded money. The male victim stepped back from the cash register and the defendant then grabbed cash and fled on foot.
September 13, 2020 at 6:15 am, Hempstead. The defendant forcibly took a 7/11 employee’s wallet out of his pants pocket while he was outside the store located at 66 South Franklin Street. The defendant punched the male victim, 43, knocking him to the ground. While the victim was on the ground the defendant kicked and punched the victim numerous times until the victim was unconscious. The victim suffered bruising and swelling. The defendant then fled the scene.
Defendant Armstead is charged with two counts of Robbery 1st Degree, and one count of Robbery 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in Mineola.
