
The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Hempstead man at 12:15am on Friday September 25, 2020 in Hempstead.
According to Detectives, the following investigations led to the arrest of defendant Jahkeem M. Jiles, 29, of 54 Albemarle Avenue. He was arrested at his residence without incident for multiple crimes that occurred between August 6, 2020 to September 24, 2020 in Hempstead.
On Thursday August 8, 2020 at approximately 9:50pm Defendant Jiles did enter a residence on Villa Court and did remove assorted clothing and handbags valued at approximately seven hundred dollars US currency.
On Thursday August 13, 2020 at approximately 1:50am the defendant did enter a residence on Liberty Court and did remove a wallet and car keys. The victim’s 2013 Hyundai with various landscaping equipment located inside the vehicle was located the next day without the equipment. The proceeds are valued at approximately twenty-six hundred dollars US currency.
On Saturday August 29, 2020 at approximately 1:40am as the defendant was entering a residence on Greenwich Street the victim woke up and screamed. The defendant fled the scene without any proceeds. No injuries were reported.
On Thursday September 24, 2020 at approximately 1:00am the defendant entered a residence on Villa Court and removed two car keys and another set of keys. The victim was awakened as the defendant was leaving the residence so he began to follow him. The defendant threatened the victim to stop following him; the victim complied. No injuries were reported.
Defendant Jahkeem M. Jiles is charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, one count of Robbery 3rd Degree, one count of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and one count of Petit Larceny. The defendant will be arraigned on Friday September 25, 2020 in Mineola.
