

The Sixth Squad reports the arrest of three individuals for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 4:29 PM in Manhasset.
According to detectives, Nassau County Police Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team officers were on patrol in the vicinity of the Americana Manhasset located at 1980 Northern Boulevard. Officers observed the defendant, Brian Muy-Saquipella, 18, of 5530 99th Street, Corona, littering outside a vehicle. Officers approached the defendant and asked for identification, at which point the defendant refused to be cooperative and started to fight with the officers. While attempting to place the defendant under arrest officers could see a gun bulging from a fanny pack on the defendant’s waist. After a brief struggle the defendant was placed under arrest. During the struggle a juvenile defendant fled the vehicle and was located in close proximity to the vehicle with another defendant, Davon Caldwell, 19, of 16427 109th Drive, Jamaica. During an investigation a handgun was recovered from the juvenile defendant. Both defendants were placed under arrest without incident.
Brian Muy-Saquipella is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Resisting Arrest and Littering. Davon Caldwell and a male juvenile are both charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. All three defendants will be arraigned on Friday, October 2, 2020 in Mineola.
