The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Brooklyn woman for an Assault that occurred on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 10:55 p.m. in Oyster Bay.
According to Police, Second Precinct Officers responded to Cooper Bluff Waterfront Bar at 5 Bay Avenue, for a call for an injured female. Upon arrival officers located the injured female and began rendering aid. While officers were helping the injured female, Celeste Rodriguez, 27, of 234 Schaefer Street, who is an acquaintance of the victim, became irate and violent towards the officers. Defendant Rodriguez began to punch, kick, headbutt and bite one of the officers. After a brief struggle the defendant was placed into custody. The officer was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Defendant Celeste Rodriguez has been charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. She will be arraigned on Sunday, October 11, 2020 in Mineola.
