
The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Far Rockaway man for an incident that occurred on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. in North Lawrence.
According to Detectives, Fourth Precinct Police Officers responded to a disturbance call at the Burlington Coat Factory located at 345 Rockaway Turnpike. Upon arrival the officers began an investigation. It was determined that the defendant Alfred Campbell, 30, of 20 Beech Street, had inappropriately touched an employee. As officers attempted to arrest the defendant he became combative and after a brief struggle the officers were able to place the defendant into custody. During the struggle the defendant suffered a bloody lip. A Nassau County Police Medic was requested to evaluate the defendant. While being transported to an area hospital the defendant became combative once again. As the officers and medic attempted to restrain the defendant he kicked an officer in his throat, causing substantial pain and difficulty breathing. The officer was also transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Defendant Alfred Campbell has been charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree, Forcible Touching, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Mineola.
