The First Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for an Attempted Burglary that occurred on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 9:36 pm in Uniondale.
According to Detectives, Damion Scott, 40, of 365 Fenimore Avenue, attempted to break into the Coliseum Gun Traders store, located at 1180 Hempstead Turnpike by throwing a brick through the front glass door. Unable to gain entry to the building, he then fled the scene on foot without any proceeds.
First Precinct officers had received a 911 call from a witness that stated someone was attempting to break into the store. Upon arrival, officers observed that the front glass door of the location was shattered and a brick on the ground in front of the entrance.
A subsequent investigation by responding officers led them to identify and locate Scott a short distance away and place him into custody without incident.
Defendant Scott has been charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Sunday, November 29, 2020 in Mineola.
