
The First Squad reports the details of an Assault that occurred at 7:21pm on Thursday December 10, 2020 in Baldwin.
According to Detectives, two Police Officers were inside the First Precinct Stationhouse located at 900 Merrick Road in Baldwin preparing to transport an arrestee to Police Headquarters. Defendant Reginald LaFleur, 26, of 58 Lawrence Street Uniondale when questioned by Officers did become irate, stood up and ran towards an Officer punching him in the abdomen. The Defendant began to resist Officers attempts to place him in handcuffs causing a Detective to use his Electronic Control Device. A second Officer suffered substantial pain and swelling to her wrist. The Officers injuries were evaluated and treated. The Emergency Services Unit assisted in transporting Defendant LaFleur to the Nassau University Medical Center for evaluation.
Defendant Reginald LaFleur is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Attempted Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Friday, December 11, 2020 in Mineola.
