Third Squad detectives report the arrest of two men regarding an incident that occurred on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 12:25 am in New Cassel.
According to detectives, Jason Jackson, 40, of 4 Woodlawn Avenue, Selden, was observed by Third Precinct officers driving a silver BMW at a high rate of speed northbound on Sheridan Street. Officers then heard a crash and arrived at the scene of the BMW that had struck a parked vehicle and overturned. Jackson was then placed into custody. During his arrest, officers, who searched his backpack, were exposed to a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. Additional officers, assisting near the scene, then observed David Robinson, 38, of 23 Catherine Street, Schenectady, N.Y., approach them. He was stopped and was subsequently found to be a passenger in the overturned BMW. He also was placed into police custody.
During the events that followed, officers recovered a loaded handgun from Jackson’s backpack and an additional loaded handgun that was found in the BMW.
