Homicide Detectives report the details of an incident that began in Hempstead and resulted in shots fired in Roosevelt. This occurred on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 8:14 PM.
According to Detectives, Hempstead Officers attempted to stop a vehicle at the Valero gas station located at Greenwich Street and Jerusalem Avenue. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and stopped on East Pennywood Avenue near the intersection of Nassau Road in Roosevelt. The occupants exited the vehicle, armed with guns, and fired multiple shots at Hempstead Police Officers while fleeing on foot. Hempstead Police Officers returned fire. No injuries reported at this time. The investigations is ongoing.

Christopher Anderson, 25, of 71 West Fulton Avenue, Roosevelt was arrested for the above incident.
Defendant Anderson is being charged with four (4) counts of Murder 1st Degree (Attempt), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Mineola.
