
The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Baldwin man and a Baldwin woman for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 9:00 P.M. in Lynbrook.
According to Detectives, Bureau of Special Operations Officers observed a Mercedes Benz Sedan operating behind them, traveling northbound on Broadway, in Hewlett. The vehicle was tailgating the Officers vehicle and repeatedly used its horn. The vehicle then went into the southbound lane of traffic, while traveling northbound, at a high rate of speed, to get around the Officer’s vehicle. The officers initiated their emergency lights and conducted a vehicle and traffic law stop at the intersection of Broadway and Everett Street in Lynbrook. Upon approaching the vehicle, Officers detected a smell of marihuana and observed defendant Randell Arthur, sitting in the front passenger seat, clutching his fanny pack around his chest. During the investigation Officers found Defendant Arthur to be in possession of a loaded firearm, which had an LED flashlight and red laser sight attached, and marihuana. He, and the vehicles driver, Naomi Cheikhali were placed under arrest without further incident.
Randell Arthur, 23, of 15 Mayfair Road, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and (2) Counts of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Mineola.
Naomi Cheikhali, 19, of 2022 Temple Court, is charged with Reckless Driving, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana 2nd Degree. She will be arraigned on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Mineola.
