Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a New York man for Grand Larceny that occurred from January 28, 2021 at 11:32 am in Seaford.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, an unknown male contacted the female victim, 90, stating he was a court officer. The male claimed the victim’s grandson was arrested for DWI and needed $25,000 dollars for bail. The victim’s home aide believed this may be a scam and called a relative to confirm the grandson was not arrested. Police were contacted and a transaction was arranged. The home aide requested a receipt in exchange of the payment.
At approximately 1:45 pm a male arrived driving a blue Acura. He exited the vehicle, approached the house and accepted an envelope that he believed contained the money. Police attempted to arrest the subject who resisted. After being subdued, Osvaldo Vallejo-Perez, 21, of 106 Fort Washington Avenue, was placed under arrest.
Defendant Vallejo-Perez is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest. He was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court on April 29, 2021.
