
First Squad detectives report the arrest of an East Meadow man for an incident that occurred on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 10:50 pm in East Meadow.
According to detectives, Jose Gonzalez, 29, of 2560 Hempstead Turnpike, while staying in room 82 with others at the Coliseum Motor Inn, 1650 Hempstead Turnpike, became involved in a verbal dispute with another male. During the dispute, a 44-year-old male intervened and attempted to stop the fight. Gonzales then withdrew a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest causing him to suffer a non-life-threatening laceration. The victim then fled the room and went to the lobby where 911 was called.
Upon police arrival, Gonzalez was located and placed under arrest without further incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Gonzalez is charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned in Mineola on 2/20/2021.
